Preliminary Results on the Preinduction Cervix Status by Shear Wave Elastography

چکیده

The mechanical status of the cervix is a key physiological element during pregnancy. By considering successful induction when active phase labor achieved, mapping properties could have predictive potential for management protocols. In this sense, we performed preliminary assessment diagnostic value using shear wave elastography before in 54 women, pregnancy outcome and Cesarean indications. Three anatomical regions standard methods, such as cervical length Bishop score, were compared. To study discriminatory power each method, receiver operating characteristic curve was generated. Differences observed external os region failure to enter group compared vaginal delivery (p < 0.05). area under ROC resulted 68.9%, 65.2% 67.2% os, internal box elastography, respectively, 69.5% 62.2% score. External values shown promise predicting success. This priori information be used prepare with larger sample size, which would reduce effect any bias selection increase other classical techniques.

Factors influencing breast elasticity measured by the ultrasound Shear Wave elastography – preliminary results

INTRODUCTION Many physiological changes of breast elasticity depend on the age, hormonal status, menstrual cycle and many others. The aim of this study was to evaluate viscoelastic properties of normal breast tissues in a large group of women and to search for factors which play a role in its mechanical properties. MATERIAL AND METHODS 101 women aged 18-74 years who underwent B-mode sonograph...

Current status of musculoskeletal application of shear wave elastography

Ultrasonography (US) is a very powerful diagnostic modality for the musculoskeletal system due to the ability to perform real-time dynamic high-resolution examinations with the Doppler technique. In addition to acquiring morphologic data, we can now obtain biomechanical information by quantifying the elasticity of the musculoskeletal structures with US elastography. The earlier diagnosis of deg...

Measuring shear-wave speed with point shear-wave elastography and MR elastography: a phantom study

OBJECTIVES To compare shear-wave speed (SWS) measured by ultrasound-based point shear-wave elastography (pSWE) and MR elastography (MRE) on phantoms with a known shear modulus, and to assess method validity and variability. METHODS 5 homogeneous phantoms of different stiffnesses were made. Shear modulus was measured by a rheometer, and this value was used as the standard. 10 SWS measurements ...

Intervertebral disc characterization by shear wave elastography: An in vitro preliminary study.

Patient-specific numerical simulation of the spine is a useful tool both in clinic and research. While geometrical personalization of the spine is no more an issue, thanks to recent technological advances, non-invasive personalization of soft tissue's mechanical properties remains a challenge. Ultrasound elastography is a relatively recent measurement technique allowing the evaluation of soft t...

Three dimensional shear wave scattering MR elastography

Introduction: Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a non invasive method that combines externally applied vibrations with the motion sensitivity of MRI to measure the shear elasticity soft tissues [1]. In MRE this is traditionally achieved by solving an inverse problem with MRE shear wave images as input data [2]. A complementary approach, which does not require the solution of an inverse p...
